Margin Master

Show live script feedback in SQL Server Tools instead of a bare progress bar

Shipped in Margin Master 2026.911.40037 · September 12, 2026

SQL Server Tools and the script progress window now display the installer's latest output lines under the progress bar in real-time, along with explicit status messages for waiting on UAC prompts and when scripts go silent. Previously, users saw only a progress bar with no indication whether the installer was actually working.

What changed

Real-time script output display

You can now see what the SQL Server installer is doing (like "Step 3: Installing database engine") right under the progress bar without opening the technical log.

Explicit UAC prompt waiting indicator

The window now tells you when it's waiting for you to click "Yes" on the Windows administrator permission prompt, instead of just showing a progress bar that looks like it might be stuck.

Silent installer detection

If the installer goes quiet for a while, the window now says so and shows where the log file is, so you know it's still working and not stuck.

Transcript tailing infrastructure
Technical log expander now opens by default

The full installer log now stays open while setup runs, so you can see everything that's happening without clicking "View technical details."
