Margin Master
True Value Store Assessment engine for automated pricing strategy recommendations
Shipped in Margin Master 2026.1009.37496 · October 10, 2026
Introduces a comprehensive assessment engine that analyzes True Value and converted Do it Best stores to recommend optimal pricing strategies. The system evaluates current pricing against True Value levels, identifies department-specific opportunities, calculates projected impacts, and generates complete strategy steps with rule text.
What changed
The assessment automatically analyzes your current prices and recommends which True Value pricing program fits best, showing exactly how many items would change and the projected profit impact.
The system now identifies items where your price suggests you're selling a different pack size than the catalog, keeping those items at their current price and listing them for your review.
The assessment identifies departments where pricing to a different level would better match your current prices, showing the specific improvement for each.
For departments with many low-awareness items under $10, the assessment can recommend higher pricing on items customers are less likely to compare.
The assessment asks targeted questions when it finds potential issues (like SKU setup problems) or close decisions (like choosing between two similar pricing programs), guiding you through important choices before creating a strategy.
See exactly how many price tags would change, which items would go up or down, and the projected annual profit impact before committing to any pricing program.
Recommended strategies are written in the exact format Margin Master uses, verified to work correctly when you apply them.
Works for both stores already converted to Do it Best SKUs and stores still using True Value item numbers, with automatic detection if your system is set up for the wrong type.
If you have multiple stores, the assessment analyzes each one and shows both individual store results and combined organization totals.
