True Value Store Assessment: Price changes and sitting margin drive level selection
Shipped in Margin Master 2026.1009.37496 · October 10, 2026
The True Value Store Assessment now chooses the store's program level and department steps based on the number of price changes needed and the resulting sitting margin, rather than average price gaps. A busy indicator shows analysis progress through each phase.
What changed
When the assessment determines which True Value level your store is on, it now picks the level that needs the fewest price tag changes. If two levels are close, it picks the one that gives you better margin.
Departments now get their own pricing level only when it saves you at least 3% fewer price changes compared to the store's base level.
The Level Fit screen now shows you up front how many prices would change at each level and what would happen to your sitting margin, instead of just showing how far off you are.
The Departments screen now shows how many price tags would change in each department at each level, making it easier to understand the work involved.
While the True Value assessment runs, you'll now see progress messages showing what it's analyzing at each step.
When comparing pricing options and plans, you'll now see the number of price changes and margin impact first, making it easier to evaluate your choices.
