Pricing With a Purpose
True Value Pricing Software
Every True Value level, on every item, whichever item numbers your registers use
True Value's variable pricing program gives a store more than one retail to choose from on every item. That is an advantage, but only if the store can see all of them at once, on its own items, with the margin consequence attached. Margin Master builds the whole ladder for every SKU you carry and puts your current prices next to it.
The whole True Value ladder, calculated per item
Margin Master works out True Value Level 1, Level 1.5 and Level 2 for every item in your catalog, using the program rule that applies to that specific SKU, then rounds each one the way the program rounds. Alongside them sits the Do it Best suggested retail, because a True Value store prices from the Do it Best catalog.
Where a SKU has no program rule of its own, it inherits from the level above it — product group, sub category, category, department — exactly as the program intends, and Margin Master tells you which rule each item used.
A rounding scheme that matches
TV-1 is the rounding scheme that matches the True Value program, and it is the default for a True Value store. You can use it, change it, or price with any scheme of your own — and see what the choice is worth before you commit.
A strategy in one click
Create True Value Strategy builds a strategy that prices your store at TV Level 1, 1.5 or 2. It is created inactive, for you to read and change before any price moves.
Whichever item numbers your registers use
Setting up a True Value store is one choice, and Margin Master does the rest
Pre-transition
Your point of sale still works in True Value item numbers. Margin Master matches them to the Do it Best catalog through the cross-reference, so your pricing, taxonomy and program levels all line up without anyone re-keying a thing.
Transitioned
Your point of sale works in Do it Best SKUs. Margin Master prices from them directly — and still recognizes the leftover True Value numbers your store has not yet turned over, so nothing falls through the gap.
Start with the True Value Store Assessment
The assessment reads your own items and tells you which True Value level your shelf prices actually follow, what each of the others would cost in price changes, and where the margin opportunity is.
- Compares TV Level 1, 1.5 and 2 and the Do it Best suggested retail
- Reads your store correctly before or after its transition, and says which reading it used
- Separates items by how closely customers watch the price
- Reports every option in price changes and sitting margin, at your twelve-month volume
Moving to Do it Best?
Changing buying group does not mean abandoning the pricing strategy you already built. Your existing True Value pricing can be the starting point for a fuller Do it Best strategy.
